Frequently Asked Questions

How do I give to the Diamond Jubilee Fund?

Where to give

You may contribute to the Diamond Jubilee Fund on this website, at the Diamond Jubilee Fund Desk in Jamatkhana, or directly at the Council for Canada offices.

Types of contributions

You may make a one-time contribution, give monthly on an ongoing basis, or give in monthly instalments with a specified end date.

Payment types

For online contributions, you may pay by credit card, or set up automatic bank withdrawals.

The following payment types are accepted when you submit your contribution at the Diamond Jubilee Fund Desk in Jamatkhana:

  • Cash Cheque
  • Bank draft
  • Credit card payment (your credit card must be with you to process the transaction)
  • Automatic withdrawals from your bank account / pre-authorized payment for monthly contributions.
What is Monthly Giving?

When you give monthly to the Diamond Jubilee Fund, you choose a dollar value to contribute each month. You only need to set up the monthly contribution once.

There are two options for monthly giving:

  • give monthly on an ongoing basis
  • give monthly with a specified end date

Monthly giving is the best way to give and ensures long-term stable funding for programs for the Canadian Jamat.

How does Monthly Giving work?

A monthly contribution to the Diamond Jubilee Fund is automatically charged to your credit card on the same day each month as specified by you, or deducted automatically from your bank account (automatic withdrawal) on the same day each month. You can use either of these two payment types using the online form.

If you prefer to make your contribution in Jamatkhana, please download and complete the form ahead of time. Click here for the Diamond Jubilee Fund Contribution Form. Take 2 copies with you to the volunteers at the Diamond Jubilee Fund Desk in your Jamatkhana.

You can modify your monthly contribution or cancel anytime by contacting the Council for Canada at 416-646-6965 Ext. 2032 or via email at djf@iicanada.org.

I currently give a regular monthly contribution to the Jamati Services Fund. What happens to that contribution?

Thank you for contributing to the Jamati Services Fund! Your contribution is valued and helps to strengthen our Canadian Jamat.

For the Diamond Jubilee year, all Jamati Services Fund monthly contributions will be rolled into the Diamond Jubilee Fund. You have the option to keep your contribution the same, or modify it as you wish.

Consider adding a one-time lump sum contribution to the Diamond Jubilee Fund. You can give online, or at the Diamond Jubilee Fund Desk in your Jamatkhana.

If you choose to increase your monthly contribution for the Diamond Jubilee year, you may revert to your original monthly contribution as of August 2018. To make changes to your monthly contribution, please see the volunteers at the Diamond Jubilee Fund Desk in your Jamatkhana, or contact the Council for Canada at 416-646-6965 Ext. 2032 or via email at djf@iicanada.org.

How is Jamati Services Fund (JSF) different from the Diamond Jubilee Fund?

The Jamati Services Fund provides national and regional services and programs. There are a variety of initiatives that are covered, such as BUI, community building, youth development, poverty elimination, and Jamati education.

The Diamond Jubilee Fund adds to the Jamati Services Fund. In addition to ongoing Jamati programs, the Fund will support special Diamond Jubilee commemoration events across Canada and internationally so our brothers and sisters around the world can also participate in joyous Jubilee events, like we do.

What happens to my monthly contribution after the Diamond Jubilee year?

If you have set up a monthly contribution to the Diamond Jubilee Fund, and you have not specified an end date, your contribution will be allocated towards the Jamati Services Fund after December 2018. The Jamati Services Fund provides a wide range of programs and services for the benefit of everyone in the Canadian Jamat.

How much should I give to the Diamond Jubilee Fund?

It is up to you to give whatever you wish to the Diamond Jubilee Fund. All contributions are welcome and incredibly valued. Everyone in our Jamat will benefit from celebrations and programs supported by the Fund, so we hope you will give generously.
